. USPTA certification requires continuing education to help ensure our staff is up to date on the most recent teaching trends and techniqutes. Additionally, all staff is SafeSport
trained through the USTA and United States Olympic Committee to protect every athlete's emotional and physical safety.
Allan Overland - Head Pro
Coach Allan has been Head Pro at BETC for over 20 years. He is one of a select few teaching Pros in the Pacific Northwest with both a USPTA Elite Professional Rating as well as certification as a High Performance instructor from the USTA. As a junior, he held the number one ranking in the Pacific Northwest, then went on to play for top 20 NCAA team University of California Irvine. After college, he earned Men's Open Singles and Doubles titles locally. He has also served as an assistant coach for the University of Washington Men's tennis team. Allan teaches a weekly Adaptive Recreation class for children and young adults with Special Needs.

Bill Bartlett - Assistant Head Pro
Bill started his tennis career as the number one ranked junior in Hawaii. He was chosen to participate in the National Junior Davis Cup tryouts, where he competed against John McEnroe. Bill played collegiate tennis for NCAA powerhouse UCLA before starting his professional career. He participates in the local Open Tournament circuit. In 2013 he was elected to the Punahou High School Sports Hall of Fame. Bill has a USPTA Elite Professional rating and has experience teaching tennis to absolute beginners as well as national tournament players.

Coach Robison has been teaching tennis in the Seattle area for over 20 years. He was a state championship runner-up while playing for Green River Community College and then played #1 Singles and Doubles for Eastern Washington University. He is active in USTA Leagues and achieved a #1 ranking in Mixed Doubles and a top 10 ranking in 35's singles. In addition to teaching adults and juniors of all abilities, Jim heads our 10 and under program and works to keep current with the newest teaching techniques and strategies for our youngest players.

JJ began coaching at BETC in 2004. He has an incredible playing background, highlighted by #1 rankings in the nation in both singles and doubles in boys 14 and 16 and under divisions. He then went on to be the #1 ranked player in the world in boys 18 & Under Doubles and top 10 in the world in 18 & Under singles. In 1992, JJ won the U.S. Open Junior Doubles title over a team that included future World #1 Marcelo Rios. In addition to private and group lessons, JJ heads our Junior High Performance Program, coaching several juniors to national rankings and helping secure Division 1 college scholarships.

Ingrid grew up playing at BETC, where she honed her skills to become one of the top junior players in the Pacific Northwest. She was ranked as high as #3 in the 18 and under division. She went on to play at Montana State University, achieving second team all conference. After college, she reached a high ranking of #3 in the PNW Women's Open Singles Division. Ingrid is the current Head Coach for the boys and girls teams at NPSL powerhouse Kentwood.

Coach Nam began teaching at BETC in 2014. He is an active player in the PNW Open Circuit as well as USTA Leagues. He won the 2015 BETC Men's 5.0 Club Championship in singles. A former standout at Thomas Jefferson High School, Patrick became Head Coach of Todd Beamer High School in 2011. He quickly took a team that finished 0-10 in 2010 to a perennial power in the SPSL Central division, qualifying numerous players for State and winning Coach of the Year honors in 2013. He coached the Newport High School girls team to a State Championship in 2017 and currently coaches the boys and girls teams at Issaquah High. Patrick holds a USTA Elite Professional rating.

Marilyn graduated from Washington and Lee University and was a two-time National Semifinalist in singles and won an NCAA DIII Doubles Championship title. She garnered All-Conference honors all four seasons and was Conference Player of the Year each of her final three seasons. She was named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) DIII Player of the Year. She then played professionally for over 10 years, achieving a professional WTA ranking of #583 in Singles and #539 in Doubles. While on tour, she played in tournaments across 5 continents. Marilyn holds a USTA Elite Professional rating.
