Junior Lesson Programs

The seasonal - Fall programs are available at the links provided.

Class registration schedules can usually be found in the brochure (above link).

Typically, all groups start a new session on the first day of the month on the day the class would normally meet. Members may sign-up as far in advance as desired and guests may sign-up one week in advance. The quarterly brochure, is available at the link provided above. There are six levels of junior programs: beginner, intermediate, advanced intermediate, advanced, elite, and premiere. The club also offers camps at various times throughout the year. A video to help explain our junior lesson program can be found at the link provided.

Video Lessons

A lesson, match play, or workout can be video taped so that you can review your play at home. Watching yourself play and practice is good mental training, and can help your game. Additional video equipment is available upon your request. Give it a try! Bring your own tape and it is free.




Instructors

Allan Overland - Head Pro

As Head Pro, Allan has 30 years experience as an accomplished player and coach. He held a number one ranking in the Pacific Northwest in the Juniors, played for the University of California at Irvine (top 20 NCAA's), and has Men's Open Singles and Doubles titles to his credit. He has coached at some of the finest clubs in the Northwest, and he served as an assistant coach for the University of Washington Men’s tennis team. Bill Bartlett

Bill started his tennis career as the number one ranked junior in Hawaii. He was chosen to participate in the National Junior Davis Cup tryouts, where he competed against John McEnroe. Bill played collegiate tennis for UCLA, an NCAA National Championship team, and after played professional tennis. Bill has been a USPTA Level 1 tennis professional since 1985, and has experience teaching tennis to players of all ages and abilities. Email: Bill Phone:253-872-5545 ext. 32

 

Jim Robison

Jim has been coaching in the Seattle area for over 18 years, and is USPTA Certified. He was a state championship runner-up while playing for Green River Community College, and played #1 singles and doubles at Eastern Washington University in Spokane. He remains an active player on the Open Northwest circuit, having obtained the #1 ranking in Open Mixed doubles for the year 2000 and #9 ranking in 35's singles in 2001. Jim has coached both team and individual state champions at the high school and collegiate level. Jim teaches private and group lessons and enjoys working with juniors and adults of all skill levels. Ingrid Bakke

Ingrid grew up playing tennis here at BETC, where she honed her skills to become one of the best players in the Northwest. She was ranked as high as #3 in the Northwest in the 18 and under girls division. Ingrid went on to play at Montana State University, and in her senior year she made second team all conference. For 2001, she was ranked #3 in the Northwest Women's Open Singles division. A knowledgeable and personable instructor, Ingrid had coached for 5 years at the Kent Swim and Tennis Club. Jesse Walter

Jesse was the top ranked junior in the Northwest in the 12, 14, & 16 and under categories. He played college tennis at Seattle University, where he played #1 for four years, and went on to play professional tennis, where he achieved a singles ranking of 695 in the world. In 2003, he captured the number one ranking in the PNW Men's Open Singles division. Jesse is an energetic coach and is USPTA certified. Email: Jesse

 

JJ Jackson

In October 2004, BETC was very pleased to bring aboard JJ to the BETC teaching staff. His incredible playing background is highlighted by #1 rankings in the nation in both singles and doubles in the boys 14 and 16 and under divisions. He then went on to be ranked #1 in the world in the boys 18 and under doubles division, and top 10 in singles. And on the pro tour, he achieved a world ranking of 490 in singles and doubles. Before coming to BETC, JJ taught at the Chapel Hill Tennis Club in North Carolina. He is now available for lessons, so check out his schedule at the front desk. Email: JJ Phone:253-872-5545 ext. 36
