About BETC and Mission Statement

BETC's Mission

The Boeing Employees Tennis Club is a service provider for a low cost, safe and fully programmed
tennis facility. At BETC, our mission and values are to help people discover, share, and play,
to their full potential, the sport of tennis while retaining a fiscal responsibility to the membership.
BETC endeavors to provide a quality service, with the highest membership satisfaction while honoring
integrity and good community citizenship. BETC is a diverse and involved team of people working
together for the member's care.

Means of Operation and Fee Increases

BETC is a non-profit member owned facility that operates on a cash (not accrual)basis. Our
goal is not to make a profit, but to serve our members. We ask that you pay for your courts,
lessons, and balls on payment programs established. As we are on a cash basis, we cannot accept
payments more than a week in advance. In order to keep our overhead as low as possible, we do not
do a monthly billing of all of your charges except for dues which are typically billed quarterly.
We also do not accept credit or debit cards because of the bank fees associated. Several years
ago the board of directors decided to address any price increases on a scheduled 3-year alternating
plan based on the revenue sources available dues, lessons and court time. With each new membership,
we collect a capital fund fee, which is dedicated to go towards major maintenance expenses and
capital improvements.
